Morumbi House
The house of an art and book collector
At the Morumbi House, light connects the cultural collection of the house, the architecture and nature. Designed for an art and book collector, it reveals artworks, rare books and landscape with precision and restraint, at controlled levels that also contribute to the conservation of the collection.
Library and home theatre
The library holds rare books of international significance and is separated from the home theatre by a glass partition. The bookshelf lighting could not interfere with film screenings. WeLight developed a custom luminaire, integrated into the shelves, with a shielding system that confines light to the library. The solution lights the books evenly and preserves the darkness required for screenings.

- Artworks: high-CRI luminaires with precise beams render colour faithfully and enhance forms, textures and materials.
- Exterior: light reveals the pool, the trees, the foliage and the layers of depth, and connects the landscape to the interiors.
- Living room, office, kitchen, gym, spa, sauna and garage: layers of light respond to the function and atmosphere of each space.
Efficiency and maintenance
Light was used only where needed and at the intensity needed. Efficient LEDs, precise optics and controlled light levels reduce consumption and preserve visual comfort. Outdoors, selective lighting reveals the vegetation, pathways and pool without flooding the landscape, which reduces light pollution and preserves the darkness of the night.
